Zack Werner continues to prove to be an excellent hire. Zack joined CEF in August of 2020 as the Accounting Manager. He was responsible for general accounting processes, daily cash receipts, and assisting the loan department with transactions and disbursements. He was also given the added responsibility of being one of the point persons for a software conversion that CEF undertook in 2022.

His natural inclination to quickly understand and share his gained knowledge was evident very early on. President John Bates says of Werner “Zack is just a rock-solid employee. He’s sharp, he learns quickly, and no tasks that we have given him have been too arduous or confounding. He has helped raise the standards of the finance department.” On his second anniversary with Church Extension Fund, Werner was promoted to Controller, and will be in charge of financial forecasting as well as expanded duties in CEF’s fiscal operations and reporting.
