In 2020, Church Extension Fund made a grant of up to $2500 available to qualifying entities to make security enhancements. Though there were bumps in the road, namely, COVID, which caused CEF to suspend the program for two months, the Security Enhancement Grant & Loan Program was a great success! The program, which was extended into the first month of 2021, supported the efforts of 206 congregations, school, and ministries of the Michigan District, LCMS. These ministries used the CEF Grant to make many different upgrades to their building security. Some added cameras, some installed new doors and locks, while others used the grant to perform background checks and to increase their ability to quickly and efficiently perform emergency procedures.

In total, CEF granted more than $460,000 in this program!
