A message from CEF CEO Jim Saalfeld

Dear Investors, Friends, and Congregations of the Michigan District:

The management team of CEF has been closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and will continue to do so in the days and weeks ahead.  I would like to ensure all of our valued customers and constituents that during these turbulent times, CEF intends to continue providing safe and secure financial transactions, and will be available to answer any questions you may have.  In short, we remain open during normal business hours.

Out of an abundance of caution and where appropriate, we are encouraging our employees to use technology as an alternative to in-person meetings and operations.  Accordingly, if you have investment needs or other business with CEF, instead of coming to the CEF office, consider giving us a call (800-242-3944), sending us an email at cef@mi-cef.org, or using the US Mail system.  And you can always find answers to many questions online as well.

CEF has a 119 year history of dedicated Christian financial management and proven investment products focused on the needs of Michigan District congregations and their members.  We also provide a number of services.  One example is our ‘Excel In Giving’ program which allows church members to give electronically to their congregations to honor their stewardship commitments – even when they are not physically present.  We suspect this may be something congregations will want to consider if they have not already signed-up for this program.  More information about Excel In Giving can be found on the CEF website.

Finally, now is a good time to use common sense and enjoy the true peace that is ours even in uncertain times. We can all take great refuge in the words of St. Paul:

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

Please call us with any questions you may have.  Further information will become available as needed.  We pray for the continued health of our friends and congregations.
